About Suzette

Suzette Langley holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She was the Chief Social Worker of the Eating Disorders Clinic at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for 5 years.

Suzette is a graduate of the Institute for Life Coach Training and a member of Coachville. She entered the coaching profession in order to support clients in identifying and attaining their personal vision of success. Her training as a therapist provides a solid skill base for her coaching practice.

Suzette is an empathic listener who is honest and straightforward in holding her clients to a high level of accountability. She provides valuable perspective on situations and upholds clients’ potential even when they have difficulty seeing it for themselves. Her clients appreciate her nonjudgemental approach and sense of humor. Above all, Suzette instills a strong sense of self-worth and possibility in her clients.

Suzette's background has made her keenly aware of the emotional issues that impact the achievement of nutrition and fitness goals. As a result, Suzette is partnered with Big Vanilla Athletic Club of Arnold, MD. As a core member of the Holistic Health Department at the club, she helps clients overcome the emotional roadblocks to making healthy lifestyle choices. Life coaching and other wellness services at Big Vanilla are open to members and non-members.

Suzette is a member of the Severna Park Chamber of Commerce, the Severna Park Junior Chamber, and On Purpose Networking for Women. She regularly writes a column on coaching-related topics in the Severna Park Voice. She has written 3 featured articles for On Purpose Magazine. The articles include “Love Thyself” (January/February 2006), “Assumptions – An Enemy to Learning” (August/September 2006), and “Does Your Self-Image Need an Update?” (January/February 2007).

Originally from the Midwest, Suzette now resides in Annapolis, MD with her husband and two American Eskimo dogs, Thalia and Blizzard. She enjoys outdoor activities, gardening, reading, fitness classes, cooking, and baking. She loves to travel when the opportunity presents itself. Two of her core beliefs are finding strength in adversity and creating a “family” made up of life-long friends.
